Music plays such a major role in my life. It is a fact that music is very important to today’s society as well. Since music plays such a vital role in my life, I decided it was appropriate to write my paper on the general topic of music. This seemed to be a simple task but while brainstorming something became obvious to me. This might not be as effortless as I had planned. If music was brought up in a conversation, I could go on and on about my favorite band or how my mom will not stop singing Barry Manilow songs. But to write a paper on something that can only be understood by ear would be tough. Then I came to realize that music is nothing new to anyone on this planet. Even a new born child is exposed to music as the beat of it’s heart monitor is one of the best sounds a mother will ever hear. If there were any doubt in my love for music I would be honored to open my car and pull out my CD carrying case capable of holding two hundred CDs and let someone browse through the selection. Anything from the Beatles to Puff Daddy, I appreciate it all. It would be tough to get away from music in my every day life. The 300-watt stereo (that wakes me up) and my car stereo (that never ceases to piss off traffic) are the two ways I can express my love the most. But I could go as far as downloading my favorite tune to my cell phone as a ringing option. Everyone can understand why music plays such an important role in their own lives. A song is used to celebrate a birthday party and is also made use in religion. Music has been around for a long time, in theatre, art and many other forms of entertainment. It has taken over the airwaves in the form of public radio which has brought many industries giving many people jobs and inspiration towards creativity and a sense of self expression. Being given the chance at so many genres is such a great option that can reach out to everyone in a unique special way.
